Admissions Information
The Professional Science Masters degree is for those who want to develop the skills required for management careers in technology-based industries, government agencies, or non-profits. Students who have a background in math, science, or engineering are encouraged to apply. Applicants must be capable of graduate-level science and math courses. Specific requirements will depend on the science track to which the applicant is applying.

- Applicants must have a four-year Bachelor’s degree with a focus on quantitative or scientific coursework, either from a regionally accredited U.S. institution or an institution recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education in their home country.
- All prospective students must submit an application to the University of Utah, including those who are current undergraduate students at the U.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0

1 Explore & Choose a Program
2 Gather Required Documents
- Official transcripts from all previously attended institutions.
- 3 Letters of recommendation (Can be from previous professors, or professional).
- Resume or CV.
- Statement of Purpose (Include your professional experience, personal goals and why this program is a good fit for you).
- 3.0 GPA minimum.
- No GRE is required to apply to the PSM but it can be submitted.
3 Submit Your Application
Applications are complete after all the steps are met. PSM cannot begin reviewing your application before it is complete.
- When choosing your program, choose the track name with the PSM at the end.
- The application fee must be paid in order to complete your application. Fees for the PSM are not waived and non-refundable.
- Domestic applicants $55.
- International applicants $65.
4 Admission Decision
- Check the status of your application regularly through the application portal. The Admissions Office will reach out directly if there are any issues.
- Once admitted follow the instructions for accepting the offer and enrolling in the program.
- A $30 late fee may apply to applications submitted after April 1st.
