About Professional Masters

PSM programs combine STEM coursework with professional skills. Our graduates create tomorrow’s workforce. Visit professionalsciencemasters.org to learn more about this kind of degree.

Unlike a typical Master of Science program, the PSM program does not end with a research thesis. It requires a capstone project or internship as part of the course, MST 6975. The project requires a non-academic sponsor. Students must demonstrate skills from the program. We seek to prepare professionals to advance and become leaders in their fields.

Due to the nature of our program, we assume applicants have a STEM undergraduate degree. Students who aren't prepared are not likely to succeed in the required courses.

It is common for students to look into transitioning into a different STEM field. For example, change from biotechnology to data science. While this is possible, it requires several prerequisites to enter this PSM program. We are happy to discuss your specific goals and how you can make that transition.
